Evangel University Campus Steam Replacement

Campus gas and steam piping failures created safety concerns for faculty, students, and staff, prompting the need for a long-term infrastructure solution. True Engineering developed a multi-year master plan to convert the campus from steam heating to natural gas hot water service, implemented in three phases.

Phase one, completed in 2022, included the installation of new hot water boilers serving Ashcroft, Mabee, Burgess, and the Dining Hall. Phase two, completed in 2025, expanded the system with additional boilers and replaced steam heating coils in Krause, Lewis, Zimmerman, and Riggs. The project was delivered using a design-build approach in partnership with WMC Mechanical, allowing for efficient coordination and phased implementation.

Phase three will begin soon and will focus on fully decommissioning the main campus steam plant, completing the transition to a safer, more reliable, and energy-efficient hot water heating system.
